Brain Gym
If you have school age children you may already be familiar with Brain Gym.
Brain Gym
is a form of Educational Kinesiology (Edu-K) that many teachers use
before class to prepare their student’s brains for learning.
The exercises, like drawing a large sideways figure eight and lifting and touching your knees with opposite hands, uses what’s called Laterality Dimension. It involves the relationship between the two sides of the brain, especially in the middle, where the two sides must integrate. There is also Focus Dimension and Centering Dimension. These have to do with the front and back as well as the top and bottom of the brain. The relationships between these areas impact the flow of learning.
To learn the exercises many people attend local classes in their area. Some of these sessions are as popular as yoga and aerobics classes.
If there isn’t a class in your area you can always purchase the book which describes the movements in great detail.
